Nepal is still safe for travel after the devastating earthquake of 25th April 2015. The tragic misfortune occurred in Nepal during peak trekking season and it has adversely affected some of the tourist sites. Things are slowly going back to normal. Places in and around the Central Development Region were affected badly but other tourist sites have been unharmed. Nepal is heaven for tourist activities and tourism is one of the major industries. There are still lots of safe trekking routes after the earthquake in Nepal.
We would suggest you not go trekking in Langtang Region, Manaslu Region, Gorkha Region, and Everest Region for at least a month. The landslide after the earthquake has blocked the path at several points and the government is working its best to resume the route as fast as they can. Also, many of the houses in these regions including the infrastructure have been either completely or partially destroyed. Everest Base Camp had the misfortune of being hit by an avalanche in which many people were recorded to be deceased.
Annapurna Region is safe for trekking post-earthquake. It would not be wise to go for a trekking package with a longer itinerary as there will be difficulty in arranging accommodation and food. So, if we were to recommend you, we would suggest you go for Ghorepani Poonhill Trek. It is an easy and short trekking in Annapurna. The itinerary is customizable. You can easily choose the Poonhill short trek package that lasts for a mere 5-days or you can go for an 8-days Poonhill sunrise trek. Poonhill is the second best viewpoint for sunrise view lagging behind the viewpoint at Kalapattar.
The calamity did not stop us from our job.  Many of our visitors are still helping in relief efforts and we are receiving an increasing number of tourists each day. We are regularly organizing fixed departure tours and trekking to villages and we are contributing as best as we can with the relief efforts.
The safety of our clients comes first. Hence, we are recommending this trek only after our staff members and guides visit PoonHilll and confirm the route, teahouses, and other facilities.
Tourism is one of the largest industries in Nepal and it will play a key role in its recovery. We can assure you that there will be no canceled trip to Poon Hill.
So, you can enjoy the Pokhara City Tour or go for Annapurna trails for scenic mountain views as these are among the safe trekking routes after the earthquake in Nepal.
