Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking, also popularly known as Annapurna Sunrise Trekking, or Annapurna Panorama Trekking, is one of the most popular and relatively easy treks that meander through the beautiful ethnic villages of the Annapurna Region. The main hub for the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking is Pokhara. We will start our journey from Pokhara. The trailhead starts from Nayapul where we reach there by using vehicles. The trekking will start from Nayapul. We’ll be passing different villages, dense, blooming, and blushing rhododendron forests, rivers, and many more. We’ll be walking through the step-stone and enjoy the best scenes of forests, mountain ranges, hills, and many more. We’ll capture snaps of impressive mountain ranges like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, and Manaslu ranges, among others.

Best time to do Poonhill Trek

The best time for the Poonhill trek is during the pre-monsoon(spring) and post-monsoon(autumn) seasons.

Spring(March-May)
In this season, the trek is particularly beautiful with blooming rhododendron forests that are full of flowers and creating vibrant landscapes.

Autumn(September-November)
In this season, the air is clear after the monsoon season, offering excellent visibility of the mountains.

Details Itineray

Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival and Check-in to Hotel
As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, one of our representatives will be there at the airport to welcome you to Nepal, pick you up, and transfer you to the hotel. You can visit our office and discuss your trip with us. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
 
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
Take this whole day for sightseeing the major attractions in Kathmandu Valley with our expert tour guides. Kathmandu is often known as the City of Temples. So, you can find some of the best examples of cultural heritages that have also been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites. Explore Pashupatinath Temple premises, Boudhanath Stupa and Monastery, The Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath), Patan Durbar Square, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Stay overnight at a hotel.
 
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara – 7 Hours
After having our morning breakfast, we take a drive to Pokhara which takes around seven hours. You can also take a morning flight to Pokhara as well, which takes just around 30 minutes. Check in to the guesthouse in Pokhara, have dinner, and stay overnight.
 
Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, then trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) – 4 Hours
In the morning, we take a short drive (about an hour) to Nayapul, which is going to be the starting point of this trek. From Nayapul, we walk along the Modi Khola and follow the way through Birethanti (1015m), and Hille (1495m) to eventually reach Tikhedhunga (1577m). We stay overnight at a local guesthouse. 

Day 5: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2840m) – 5 Hours
Today, we move on from Tikhedhunga towards the steep climb to Ulleri (2070). You can intersperse into the large Magar settlements at Ulleri. From Ulleri, we ascend more gently through the fine forests of rhododendrons and oaks. After walking for a couple of hours from Banthanti, we eventually reach Ghorepani where we stay overnight at a guesthouse.
 
Day 6: Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m) and trek to Tadapani (2610m) – 5 Hours
We have to wake up early in the morning today as we've to hike up to Poon Hill, probably the best viewpoint in the Annapurna Region. Here at Poon Hill, we catch the panorama of the beautiful peaks including the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Often touted as the Photographer's Paradise, don't miss out to take some of the best snaps of this entire trip from Poon Hill during sunrise. That being said, sunset views from this hilltop are equally rewarding the phenomenal. Spend a few to at Poon Hill and then return to Ghorepani. After having breakfast at Ghorepani, we again continued our walk towards Tadapani. Ascending towards Deurali, and descending again, we eventually reach Tadapani, where we stay overnight at a local guesthouse. 

Day 7: Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940m) – 5 Hours
From Tadapani, we descend through the forests while following the trail to Ghandruk—aka the biggest Gurung Settlement in the country. Take your time to explore the typical culture and lifestyle of ethnic Gurung people and interact with local people. Ghandruk also offers some of the magnificent views of mountains. Stay overnight at a local guesthouse. 

Day 8: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul (1010m), then drive to Pokhara – 5 Hours
As today is going to be the final day for trekking, we slowly follow our trail back to Nayapul from Ghandruk. Once we reach Nayapul, we can take a short drive back to Pokhara. Check-in to the hotel and stay overnight. 

Day 9: Full-day Pokhara Sightseeing Tour
It's worth spending one more day at Pokhara, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. We spend the entire day exploring the major attractions of the city. Early in the morning, drive up to Sarangkot to catch the beautiful sunrise views. After spending little time at Sarangkot, return to Pokhara and visit Bindhawasini Temple, Bat Cave, Mahendra Cave, and Davis' Falls. And have a fantastic time boating at Phewa Lake as well. If time allows, you can go shopping in Pokhara. Stay overnight at a guesthouse. 

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara
We drive back to Kathmandu again. Once you are back in Kathmandu, you can take your remaining time for last-minute shopping or utilize the time exploring around the city. Join the Farewell dinner with the team in the evening and stay overnight at a guesthouse. 

Day 11: Final Departure
Your last day in Kathmandu! You can either continue your new trip to some other destination or just take the returning flight back to your home town. We will accompany you to the airport.
