Sarangkot Dhampus Trek is one of the best short treks in Pokhara that takes you through Sarangkot, Dhampus, and Naudanda which are the most popular viewpoints in Pokhara. 5 days Sarangkot Dhampus Trek begins with a drive to Pokhara. 4hrs of trek through Bagar will take us to Sarangkot hill from where we will cross the forest of pine and oaks to reach Dhampus village. We will enjoy the views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre Mountain, Dhaulagiri Mountain, Hiunchuli Mountain, Lamjung Mountain, and other mountains from Dhampus village and then lower down to Dhampus Phedi from where we will return to Kathmandu via Pokhara.

Itinerary Outline

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara (5hr drive)
Day 2: Pokhara to Sarangkot (1600m) via Bagar (4hrs trek)
Day 3: Sarangkot to Dhampus (5hrs)
Day 4: Dhampus to Pokhara (3hrs)
Day 5: Pokhara to Kathmandu  

Details Itineray

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara 5hr drive
Wake-up calls will be made at 6 am. After a hurried breakfast, we will reach Tourist Buspark, Kantipath. The bus leaves from Kathmandu to Pokhara at about 7 am. We will follow Prithvi Highway for 5hrs to reach Pokhara. The journey continues with views of cablecar at Kurintar and Trishuli Rivers. Following the Marsyangdi River through terraced fields, we will reach Seti River and continue our journey to Pokhara. Pokhara is the second largest city in Nepal. Pokhara offers great views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Peaks.

Day 2: Pokhara to Sarangkot (1600m) via Bagar 4hrs trek
We will begin the trek from the hotel in lakeside Pokhara. An hour's walk will take us to Bagar. 3hrs of further trekking will take us to Sarangkot. Viewpoint in Sarangkot is the highest and most famous viewpoint near Pokhara. Sarangkot offers a beautiful sunset view and panoramic views of the looming Annapurna Mountain Range and Phewa Lake. We will enjoy a breathtaking sunset view from the viewpoint and then lower down to the lodge to stay overnight.    

Day 3: Sarangkot to Dhampus 5hrs
We will wake up early in the morning and climb to Sarangkot viewpoint to observe the sunrise view. Returning to the hotel, we will have a light breakfast before continuing our journey to Naudanda. Naudanda Summit offers great views of Pokhara Valley and Phewa Lake. We will lower down from Naudanda to Ghatte Khola and choose the escalating path to Dhampus which is a pretty little village of Gurung ethnics situated at the top of Dhampus hill.
    
Day 4: Dhampus to Pokhara 3hrs
We will climb to the ridge to get a close-up view of Fishtail or Machhapuchhre Mountain. We will explore Dhampus village and get to know their unique culture and ways of living. The trail descends through the forest to Dhampus Phedi from where we will catch the vehicle and take 2 to 3 hours of drive back to Pokhara where we will stay in a Hotel in Lakeside Pokhara.  

Day 5: Pokhara to Kathmandu 
Following Prithvi highway for 5 hours, we will reach Kathmandu from Pokhara.
