Poonhill is Nepal's second most famous viewpoint, presiding only by Kalapatthar's viewpoint. The hilltop is famous for the mesmerizing sunrise view from Poonhill over Annapurna Mountain that it offers. Several snow-clad mountains and peaks of Gangapurna Mountain, Annapurna South Mountain, Annapurna I Mountain, Dhaulagiri Mountain, and Hiunchuli Mountain which people can view from Poonhill are also the major attractions of the Poonhill trekking. 

Since trekking in Poonhill continues through the off-the-beaten trail from Nayapul, views in Poonhill trekking also include bamboo and rhododendron forests and diverse species of floras and faunas that dwell in the thickets of Annapurna Sanctuary. The Poonhill trekking route is also famous for bird watching. Several local and migratory birds like lophophorus and others gather in the dense woods. A homestay facility is available in Ghandruk. Spring (March) is the best season for the Poonhill trekking as you will pass through the colorful array of blooming rhododendrons and bamboo. A TIMS card and Annapurna permit are required to enter Annapurna National Park.
